After a devastatingly painful break up, a down and out Millennial is left high and dry after his fiance leaves him for a motivational speaker. He finds hope in a better tomorrow when he meets a charmingly crude young woman after she saves him from a mugger. After confessing his passion for illustrations, they discover they have a mutual love for comic books. Low self-confidence prevents him from pursuing her and when she rides away on the train, Joe becomes convinced that if he creates a successful comic book with her as the superhero, she will find a way back to him, and catapult him to joy.
